The Kuerner Farm on Ring Road in Chadds Ford has earned U.S. National Historic Landmark
and U.S. National Register of Historic Places designation. Famous local artist, Andrew Wyeth, featured the farm and its residents in about one third of his over 1,000 paintings.
At the annual meeting of the Chadds Ford Township Civic Association in October, 2019, Timotha Trigg was honored as the 2019 Outstanding Chadds Ford Citizen of the Year.
A resident of the township for more than 25 years with her husband John, Timotha is the Chadds Ford Planning Commissioner and elected Township Auditor, and served eight years (2003 to 2011) as a Unionville Chadds Ford School Director, two years as president of the School Board, and two years as vice president.
In addition to being considered one of the foremost education experts in the state and devoting much of her time to the school district, she also serves on the Chadds Ford Historical and Architectural Review Board.
The objectives of the association are to maintain the rural character of the township as a healthful, safe, pleasant residential community and to promote the solution of problems affecting the community on a friendly, cooperative and completely non-partisan basis.
Annual Wine and Cheese Event and Election of Association Directors
Due to the pandemic, we were not able to hold our annual meeting in 2020. However, we are planning on the new normal and are targeting our Chadds Ford Civic Association Annual Membership Meeting with Wine & Cheese at the Brandywine River Museum in October 2021. More details coming soon.
We are working to schedule a date for our regular roadside cleanup project - accommodating social distancing requirements while still working to keep Chadds Ford beautiful!
All supplies provided (including coffee and donuts) - just bring yourself!
More information coming soon.
Annual Scholarship for 2021
Each year, the Civic Association awards a scholarship to a high school senior living in the township; the winner is selected by the Civic Association board based not only on academic achievements, but also extracurricular activities, community service, and other elements.
We are pleased to announce that we had joint winners of our 2020 Scholarship: Peter Kucharczuk and Viraj Joshi were the 2020 recipients of our annual scholarship award.
The application form for the 2021 scholarship will be available in February, and submissions will be due by April 1, 2021.
Click here to if you would like to view the application form used for 2020 (don't submit this form in 2021 - it's just to give an idea of what the submission form will look like).
